The Cincinnati Center for Auditory
Processing and Language Disorders

The Cincinnati Center for Auditory Processing and Language Disorders is located at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, Division of Audiology. Licensed and experienced audiologists who are Board Certified by the American Board of Audiology evaluate both children and adults who are suspected of having a Central Auditory Processing Disorder (CAPD). Our program philosophy is that CAPD usually represents a multi-factored problem requiring trans-disciplinary evaluation. Our virtual center includes audiologists, speech-language pathologists, psychologists, physicians, and others. In fact, in addition to the audiologists at the Cincinnati Center for Auditory Processing and Language Disorders, the other members of our team may include private practitioners or professionals in the school system that are already involved in the care of the referred child. If no services have been provided, we can arrange testing through a wide network of individuals and agencies. We also work closely with the Communication Sciences and Disorders Program in the College of Allied Health Sciences where Speech-Language evaluations are provided.  When referrals are received from other professionals or agencies our communication will always be back to the referral source.

In some cases we will forward an intake questionnaire that will help us to determine the appropriateness of the referral and to plan our evaluation.
